Community Guidelines
Version dated September 10, 2026 — superseded on September 27, 2026. Read the current Community Guidelines. This copy is kept so members can see the guidelines that applied before the update.
AVident is a working aviation community. These guidelines apply to everything you post or send on the Platform: your profile, listings, reviews, messages, and the Lounge. They are part of the Terms of Service (Section 5, Acceptable use); this page says the same things in plain language and explains what happens when they are broken.
1. Be who you say you are
Use your real name and your own credentials. Do not claim a certificate, rating, currency, medical, or aircraft that is not yours. Do not impersonate another pilot, school, or business. One person, one account.
2. Safety talk is welcome; safety pressure is not
Debriefs, weather calls, and go/no-go discussions are what the Lounge is for. Do not pressure another Member to fly, to skip a preflight, to accept an aircraft they are not comfortable with, or to sign an endorsement they have not earned. Do not post content that encourages violating the Federal Aviation Regulations. The pilot in command's decision is final, and nobody on AVident gets to second-guess it in the moment.
3. Treat people like crew
No harassment, threats, slurs, or hate based on race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, nationality, or age. No posting anyone's private information. Disagree about technique, not about people.
4. Keep it aviation, keep it honest
Photos and posts should be yours or shared with permission. Reviews must describe a booking or lesson you were actually part of. No spam, no unrelated commercial promotion, no fundraising, no political campaigning. Profanity is filtered automatically in posts, messages, listings, and reviews.
5. Nothing explicit
Public images (profile photos, aircraft and school photos, Lounge pictures) are screened automatically before they appear. Sexual, gory, or otherwise explicit images are rejected, and borderline ones go to a human for review. Repeated attempts to post them lead to suspension.
6. Deals stay on the Platform
If you found someone here, book here. Asking a Member to pay you outside AVident for a booking arranged on it, or posting rates that only apply off-platform, violates the Terms and the Provider Agreement and gets listings removed.
7. Reporting and blocking
Every Lounge post and comment, review, profile, and aircraft photo has a Report option. Reports go to AVident staff, and a post or comment that gathers reports from three different Members is hidden automatically while we review it. You can block any Member from their profile: they cannot message you, and neither of you will see the other in Members, Discover, or the Lounge. Blocking is private; the other person is not told.
8. What happens when a rule is broken
| First time | Repeat | Serious |
|---|---|---|
| Content removed and a warning. | Posting restricted or listings paused. | Immediate suspension for impersonation, credential fraud, threats, explicit content, or unsafe-flying pressure. Open bookings are cancelled and card holds released. |
If you believe we got it wrong, reply to the notice or write to support@flyavident.com. We review appeals within 5 business days.
