AVident connects student pilots, certificated pilots, flight instructors, pilot examiners, mechanics, and aircraft owners — so you can rent verified aircraft, book instruction and checkrides, and pay securely, all in one place.
AVident is a two-sided marketplace for the general aviation community in the United States. Members offer and book the following services through our iOS app and platform:
Rent piston singles and other general aviation aircraft directly from their owners. Every listed aircraft is verified against the FAA registry before it can be booked, and renters must hold valid renter's insurance and be approved by the owner before flying.
Priced per flight hour by the owner (typically $100–$300/hr, USD)
Find certificated flight instructors (CFIs) near you for primary training, checkout flights, flight reviews, and endorsements. Instructors publish their specialties and availability, and lessons are scheduled and paid through the platform.

Book practical tests with FAA Designated Pilot Examiners (DPEs). Examiners list the certificates and ratings they administer along with their fees, so applicants can find and schedule a checkride without phone tag.

Aircraft owners can find certificated mechanics (A&P/IA) by specialty, track squawks on their aircraft, and coordinate maintenance with their designated instructors and renters.

A directory of pilots available for contract flying, searchable by type ratings and location — useful for owners who need a qualified pilot for a repositioning flight or shared trip.
Negotiated between the parties
The Lounge community feed, pilot logbook, currency tracking, and digital endorsements (per FAA AC 61-65) — included free for every member.

Joining AVident is free. We charge a simple platform fee on paid bookings — there are no listing fees, subscriptions, or hidden charges.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Your card details never touch our servers.
Browse aircraft near you. Every listing is matched against the FAA registry and its ownership is verified before it can be booked.
Upload proof of renter's insurance and complete the owner's approval or checkout requirements. Owners stay in control of who flies their aircraft.
When you book, a hold is placed on your card for the estimated cost. You're only charged for actual flight time recorded on the Hobbs meter, documented with photos at block-out and block-in.
After the flight, the final amount is captured and the owner is paid out automatically. Meter disputes are resolved before you're ever billed for a disputed amount.
